Case study · Acclaro partnership

One translator. One voice. Zero missed deadlines.

How Acclaro, a leading US localization agency, runs the largest files of a major German localization program through one translator: 550,000+ words in ten months, in projects of up to 90,000 words, every delivery on schedule.

The program

Large volumes, dense terminology, deadlines that anchor product launches.

Acclaro localizes the learning content of one of the world’s largest professional-certification organizations, headquartered in the US, whose credentials are held by millions of professionals worldwide. The German program covers flagship eLearning courses, practice guides, technical documentation and marketing content. The volumes are big, the terminology is dense, and the deadlines anchor course launches. They do not move.

The partnership goes back to 2022. The first projects were mid-sized, the work was checked batch by batch, and trust grew the way agency trust always grows: through deliveries. In late 2025 I offered Acclaro something new: serious volume at production speed. The first mega-batch of the program was split across six translators. The batches that followed came to me.

The production line behind it

Custom tooling around the industry-standard stack.

I have built translation workflows for more than a decade, starting in post-graduate research on translation technology. The pipeline that absorbs this program is my own. This is what every Acclaro batch runs through:

Step 1

Terminology first

A program glossary engineered automatically from source material, translation memories and past glossaries with my own tooling. It has grown past 3,500 terms and constrains every single batch.

Step 2

Pre-translation

The full program memory is applied in Phrase and Trados Studio before a single new word is touched. Nothing that was ever decided gets decided twice.

Step 3

Post-editing, properly

Terminology-constrained output, then a full human pass over every segment. Recurring issues are corrected in batch across the whole file, never one by one. That is how 10,000+ words a day hold their consistency.

Step 4

Layered QA

My own automated checks, Trados Studio verification, an Xbench pass and a repetition consistency pass. Tags are placed automatically after translation with AI assistance, then verified, so formatting never slows the text down.

Step 5

Delivery where the agency works

Confirmed segments in Acclaro’s Phrase workspace. Large files go out in phased daily deliveries, so the agency sees progress from day one.

What your agency gets

The same setup is open to every agency I work with.
One voice at 90,000 words
No five-translator patchwork. An entire course or manual reads like a single author wrote it, because one did.
Deadlines that hold
Sustained 10,000+ words per day and phased daily deliveries. Zero missed deadlines across the whole program.
Terminology that compounds
The program glossary grows with every project. Each delivery makes the next one faster and more consistent.
Platform-native delivery
Phrase, Trados Studio, memoQ, XTM or your own portal. Handover in your system is routine, not an exception.
